It’s a thrilling time for fans of online slots – as of March 2026, 7 U.S. states have fully regulated online casino markets, with more considering new legislation in the future. This continued industry growth has created an exciting gaming scene for U.S. players and means that there is an enormous variety of slot games to choose from today. To gain a better understanding of the current landscape, we recently caught up with Alexander Korsager, Chief Gaming Officer and resident expert at Casino.org. Alexander offered us his take on online slots and the U.S. iGaming scene, and some seriously helpful expert advice about comparing the vast range of slots available online!

Hi Alexander – thanks for making the time for this interview. Before we dive in, could you introduce yourself to our readers and talk us through your background and your experience in the world of iGaming?

I’ve got a decade of experience in iGaming, having started out at a then small gambling comparison company back in 2016. It was a lucky opportunity that led to a long career and I’m still here on the scene, and still really enjoying it. My experience has really grown over the years, and I’ve now reviewed over 2000 casino games, so I have a keen understanding of what players are looking for today. As the Chief Gaming Officer at Casino.org I also need to know what’s happening across the industry, so I’ve developed that big-picture understanding too which is so important in this highly changeable sector. I was really grateful to win the iGaming IDOL – Manager of the Year award in 2023 and to receive that recognition for my work, and I just hope to keep growing and building my knowledge – the iGaming world never slows down!

It sounds like you’ve witnessed a lot of changes in the industry during that time, and it’s certainly been an eventful decade within the world of iGaming. What is your favorite thing about working in this industry right now?

We’ve got a great team of experts over at Casino.org, so right now I’m enjoying working with my colleagues and having that opportunity to learn from each other. Outside of that, there are so many great industry events taking place these days too. I’ve been really lucky to attend some of the best iGaming conferences in the world like SBC Summit and the Global Gaming Expo, and I always find them really inspiring. My favorite aspect is being part of such a fun and exciting sector where things are always changing – there are always new games to try, new developments on the horizon. Being allowed to pursue my hobby at work is still a dream come true for me, and I’ll never take that for granted.

There has been major growth in the global iGaming scene recently, and that means there is now an enormous number of different slots to choose from. How do you compare all the different online slots out there, and what would you say are the markers of a great game?

It’s obviously important to look out for slots with high RTP (return to player) percentages, so that’s often what I look at to begin with. As you say there are so many choices out there, so there’s no point in settling for less than the best. After that, I’ll look at the game mechanics. To me it’s important that the game is actually fun and enjoyable, that’s the main attraction. I always check out the provider too – typically if I know I’ve enjoyed other games from the same platform or provider in the past, that can be good marker of quality. Today’s players have so much to choose from, and that’s great, but it’s also important to double check the reputation of your chosen site. Safety first, then the fun can follow.

The growth of the U.S. iGaming scene has been a hot topic over the last few years, and it definitely means there are more options available to players than ever before. What do you think is driving the surge in popularity of online slots in particular?

Online slots have seen a massive surge in popularity, and the ease and accessibility of modern gaming platforms is absolutely the main driving force behind this trend. In certain U.S. states players can spin the reels from their mobile phone from pretty much anywhere, and that convenience factor can’t be underestimated. It really is so easy and fun to play these quick short-form games on the go, and I think that’s why online slots now account for 70–80% of total iGaming revenue in regulated states. Alongside that, the overall quality of games has improved dramatically, and we’re also seeing increased trust in the sector thanks to the rise of better regulated platforms. It’s an exciting time in the world of slots, and players in the U.S. are definitely picking up on that.

There’s a lot of talk about regulation right now, and there will surely be further changes to the national legislative landscape. What are your predictions for the U.S. online slots market in the near future?

We’re going to see continued expansion as more states choose to regulate online casinos. Places like New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan are setting the benchmark and there’s no doubt other states will follow in their footsteps soon enough. That’s going to lead to greater innovation, further growth, and ultimately more high quality gaming options for U.S. players. For slots in particular, I think we’ll see increasingly personalized gaming experiences becoming the norm. The use of AI and data personalization will be used to create tailored experiences for each player, and obviously that trend of gamification is going to continue as well. There’s no sign of things slowing down, so at Casino.org we’ll be focused on providing that up-to-date expertise and guidance, to help players navigate these constant changes.

Thanks for your time Alexander – we look forward to hearing from you about all the latest and greatest slots for U.S. players!
